Ben Robbins:

Ben started his musical career early on as a chorister at Westminster Cathedral. After winning a music scholarship to Kings College, (oboe and piano) he went on to work as a recording engineer at RG Jones Studios with acts such as A-Ha, The Moody Blues, Cliff Richard, Vanessa Mae, Leo Sayer, D-Influence and Gabrielle.

He set up his first studios in 1996 to concentrate on writing and producing, resulting in hits for Tina Arena, Errol Brown, Toby Bourke, Rick Astley and Laura Pausini (co-producing her first song sung in English “The Extra Mile” for which he was nominated a Latin Grammy award).

Recently, his triumph in the classical crossover sector is enviable, with a 7-week stay at no.1 on the UK Classical Chart with the Katherine Jenkins’ album ‘Premiere’ (Universal Classics) spending 100 weeks in the top 10.

He has been producing and writing with world famous Italian producer Mauro Malavasi (Andrea Bocelli/Josh Groban) in Bologna- for his next project with Karine Carusi and has songs on the new album by new age Italian crossover songbird Giorgia Fumanti (Manhattan Records).

Ben also wrote and produced tracks on the debut album by Keedie (EMI Classics) who sang the theme from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical ‘Woman In White’ as well as producing her UK top 20 hit single ‘Jerusalem’ featuring the England Cricket Team.

He recently celebrated a 3-week stay at #1 with the triple platinum album by Australian Pop Idol Anthony Callea (Sony BMG) including the massive single ‘Per Sempre’ (reaching #5.) which he co-wrote with Steve Balsamo.

Other achievements include the French entry for the 2004 Eurovision song contest performed by Pop Idol Jonatan Cerrada (Sony BMG), soundtrack success on the Disney TV show ‘Flatmania’ sung by Anngun and production & writing on the million selling album ‘Freeway’ by Russian phenomenon Smash!! (Universal).

After recently completing the new solo album for M-People vocalist Heather Small and Danish classical crossover duo Mariah & Michael (MyWayMusic), Ben has been co-writing with a foray of artists including Liz McClarnon (AATW), Delta Goodrem (Sony BMG), Anthony Callea (Sony BMG Australia), Anggun (Sony BMG France) and X-Factor’s Chico (Sony BMG).

His latest cuts as a writer are with Karine Carusi, Giorgia Fumanti, Kim Lian, Anthony Callea (2nd album)-which he also produced, Liset Alea , and the current single for South African Pop Idol Dewald Louw.

He is currently in his studio mixing new tracks for The Storys 2nd Album (Warners) as well as developing soprano Fiona Jessica Wilson for a new project due to be showcased in April 2007.
